How does hCG work?
What is hCG?
hCG or Human Chorionic Gonadotropin is a hormone produced during pregnancy by the embryo and placenta.
Endocrinologist Albert T. W. Simeons theorized that hCG activates an area of the hypothylamus that controls fat storage, activating it in order to assure saturation of the blood by fat stores for supportive energy to the fetus. When low dose of hCG was injected into obese patients, they lost body fat and retained muscle mass.
